Dave runs The Yard Social Enterprise Programme working with young people outside of formal education to develop practical skills. The programme prepares participants for entering an alternative form of education and, eventually, employment. Dave hopes his work will allow young people to explore possibilities and achieve their life goals. He joined the team in 2018.

Dave has made good friends and great memories on the job. He finds it rewarding to see those involved grow and develop and is motivated by seeing them achieve their potential. He is a strong believer in equity and standing in solidarity with those who are marginalised, striving for a society where young people are given equal opportunities to develop and flourish.

Originally from Kildare, Dave worked for a year in an after-schools club in Limerick city. He also held positions within both primary and secondary education facilities.

Dave has a degree in Sociology and Theology from Maynooth University, a Post-Grad Dip in Child Mental Health from U.C.D., and a Master’s in Community & Youth Work from Maynooth University. He was the recipient of the Children and Youth Award at the National Volunteer Awards, 2018.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys sports—especially football and basketball.
