We are delighted to be attending the launch of Turnaround Youth today, May 12th, in The Irish Film Institute. IPRT are launching their Turnaround Youth Project and Report which presents the case for the differential treatment for young adults who commit criminal offences. Their aim is to reduce both the number of young people in detention and re-offending by young people in Ireland.
Solas Project will be showing a video of two young adults from our Compass Programme who will talk about their experience within the Irish Prison System and how this experience has had an impact on them personally.
We believe that a combination of strong and supportive pre and post release services are essential to the successful reduction of re-offending rates in young adults.
