Solas College go to Trinity!

Solas College is our College Engagement programme that introduces 6th class children to the idea of attending third level education while raising their expectations.

As part of our annual College Awareness Week and Solas@School, the 6th class boys of Francis Street CBS went on a trip to Trinity College Dublin yesterday. To begin the day they received an introductory talk in a big lecture hall, followed by a treasure-hunt style tour around the campus. They also got a look at the Book of Kells before having lunch to end their day!

We feel that this programme is so important within Solas Project as it breaks down the perceived barriers that some of these children may have towards third level education. Solas College starts a conversation around what happens after leaving school and the potential of what these children can achieve. 

The day was a big thumbs up from the lads!
